Position: Quality Assurance Specialist
Location: Irving, TX
Reporting to: COO
The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist oversees, plans, and implements new and existing quality improvement initiatives and education programs pertaining to the business. Functional responsibilities for the incumbent include performing approvals for manufacturing investigations, driving proactive and corrective improvements within Operations, tracking internal/external audit commitments and driving on-time closure, evaluation of new requirements and emerging regulations, and oversight for tending of quality compliance metrics.
Major areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to, incident reporting system, compliment and grievance management, compliance, auditing and monitoring of agent contracting, privacy and HIPAA compliance, billing and reimbursement compliance, contract compliance, regulatory and/or legal research, and developing corporate compliance training.
Role & Responsibilities:
Conduct ongoing reviews of department SOPs to ensure compliance with all regulations and standards.
Decision-making, building relationships, problem-solving, conflict management, planning and organization, resource allocation, coaching others, and analytical thinking.
Assist with the review and approval of validation test plans, requirements, and results.
Interpret results and situations and articulate recommendations for resolution.
Work effectively with teams and across functional groups to ensure requirements are met.
Provide guidance to other employees in the interpretation of complex data.
Make independent and objective decisions and work with minimal supervision.
Maintain excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in health care or business field; equivalent combination of related experience and/or education may substitute for degree.
Experience in health care or related industry preferred.
Related experience must be in the fields of medical records, audits, coding, compliance, legal research, HIPAA, and/or quality management, or a similar field.
Microsoft Office Suite experience required; must demonstrate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and successfully manage complex projects.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to establish smooth working relationships, resolve interpersonal conflicts, correct misunderstandings or errors, and apply basic staff etiquette in dealing with others.
Ability to perform a high volume of repetitious work and to work under a deadline without losing accuracy.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
