Position: HR Specialist
Location: Irving, TX
Reporting to: Director of HR
Gather Resources is seeking a confident HR Professional to join their client's HR team and assist in managing all HR-related aspects of the company’s Call Center and Call Center staff.
The Human Resources Specialist will need prior hands-on experience successfully addressing and resolving employee relations issues, including but not limited to employee punctuality and work performance, and ensure a fair and unbiased approach to effective Human Capital Management.
This HR Specialist will work closely with management and will be required to build effective relationships to assist in meeting the Company’s needs and goals as it relates to its employees, culture, and business objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist management with effective enforcement of Company policies and procedures, written and verbal communications, including but not limited to disciplinary actions and terminations
Assist with investigations of employee complaints, workplace safety, or any other related concerns brought to Human Resources attention
Assist with pre-employment processes between candidates and the Company related to background checks, drug and alcohol testing, selection assessments, and reference checks
Conduct new hire orientation and related personnel administration
Ensure accuracy and legal compliance on new hire administration, including completion and maintaining I-9 records
Participate in the coordination of company culture and engagement initiatives such as birthday recognition, service anniversary recognition, and wellness programs
Responsible for data entry, which includes compiling data from various areas to prepare reports related to HR initiatives
Answer inquiries on general employment verification, benefits, and company policies
Conduct exit interviews
Assist with maintaining the organizational charts and employee directory
Assist in relieving the Receptionist for breaks and/or lunches, as needed
Adhere to privacy, confidential, and proprietary company policies and procedures
Practice and comply with all regulations promoting a safe and healthy work environment
Assist with projects and other tasks, as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience
SHRM-CP or PHR Certification preferred
3+ years of human resources experience as a coordinator or generalist
Experience in healthcare or related industry preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Must be able to establish and maintain productive, positive, and cooperative relationships with employees at all levels, partners, and outside vendors
Must be able to resolve interpersonal conflicts, correct misunderstandings or errors, and apply basic staff etiquette in dealing with others
Innovative, motivated, organized, high-energy team player
Ability to perform a high volume of repetitious work and to work under deadline without losing accuracy
Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret reports and business correspondences
