Position: Data Analyst
Location: Irving, TX
Reporting to: Director of IT
The Data Analyst will interpret data and turn it into information which can offer ways to improve the overall business by impacting everyday business decisions. The Data Analyst will gather information from various sources and interpret patterns and trends with a strong analytical nature. The Data Analyst will collaborate with the IT team and other departments to develop initiatives and strategies that optimize costs and improve internal and external reporting. Once data has been gathered and interpreted, the Data Analyst will report back what has been found in a comprehensive study to the wider business/relevant colleagues.
The Data Analyst will assist with the implementation and support of business information systems across multiple departments. They identify problems and opportunities within a company and ultimately provide solutions that help achieve the business goals. This Data Analyst will conduct market analyses, analyzing both product lines and the overall profitability of the business. In addition, they will develop and monitor data quality metrics and ensure business data and reporting needs are met.
Responsibilities:
Manage master data, including creation, updates, and deletion.
Collect, interpret, validate, and analyze data while maintaining data integrity.
Provide quality assurance of imported data as needed.
Investigate and resolve all discrepancies.
Report results back to the relevant members of the business.
Identify patterns and trends in data sets.
Work alongside teams within the business and/or management team to establish business needs.
Commissioning and decommissioning of data sets.
Create and define new data collection and analysis processes.
Work with the data team to ensure all data reports are available on time.
Ad Hoc projects/requests in support of company initiatives.
Troubleshoot and validate reporting database environment and reports.
Provide technical expertise in data storage, data mining, and data cleansing.
Create and maintain Key Performance Indicators to assist with business decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
Proficient in SQL; able to write complex queries
Hands-on experience and a good understanding of DAX
Hands-on experience and a good understanding of R
Proficient in Excel
Must have a positive attitude with a desire to grow and learn
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
Experience with data models, database design development, and segmentation techniques
Excellent team building and project management skills
Excellent written and oral communication
High level of integrity and excellent judgment concerning confidential matters
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher a PLUS
Power Pivot and Power Query experience a PLUS
